Please note: There has been a change in the time this workshop is being offered.

Date: June 15, 2021

Time: 2:00 – 4:30 pm

Location: Online

Please join us for this interactive workshop opportunity for adult learners, staff, and volunteers of ECALA grant recipients.

The workshop will touch on the current realities facing Indigenous communities and increase awareness of the need for specific, Indigenous cultural supports in service delivery. It will also explore the legacy historical processes and policies continue to have on Indigenous People and provide suggested ways participants can heal together from these impacts.

Some of the workshop highlights:

  1. An interactive presentation that allows participants to learn about and look at Intergenerational trauma from a different perspective: a personal perspective
  2. Participants will be moved and motivated to work towards a better understanding of how to best offer, plan and deliver impactful Indigenous programming
  3. Personal perspective as well as view three video clips that emphasize the impacts of history on Indigenous people in Canada and context on the importance of moving towards reconciliation

The event will not be recorded. Tim has developed this workshop to be interactive. You will be able to turn your video off but still participate by working in small groups to share your knowledge and experiences.
