Mission: The Learning Centre Literacy Association engages people in community-based learning and literacy development that further enables them to make positive changes for themselves and their communities. Vision Statement: The Learning Centre Literacy Association: A vibrant, diverse community confidently exploring and using literacy. The Association, in keeping with its Mission and Vision Statements, offers various on-site and outreach literacy/numeracy adult learning opportunities, as well as one to one volunteer tutoring to encourage involvement of Edmonton's marginalized or underprivileged citizens. On-site programs are offered on a continuous intake basis from September to June. Current outreach locations include the Alberta Hospital, Buffalo Sage Wellness House, The Neighbour Centre, Edmonton Indigenous Seniors Centre and the Bissell Centre. Francophone Literacy programs are also available on the south side at the l’Alliance Jeunesse-Famille de l’Alberta Society (AJFAS) location.
