Join ECALA staff and our Guests Elder Ed Lavallee, and Rebecca Still for a morning of networking, adding to your adult literacy practice toolkit and taking away practical ideas you can use in your classes.
8:30 am – 8:45 am: Registration
8:45 am – 9:15 am: Smudge Ceremony and Opening Prayer Ceremony, Elder Ed Lavallee
9:30 am – 10:30 am: Indigenous History and Culture: Truth or Myth, Elder Ed Lavallee & Brittany Whitford
10:30 am – 10:45 am: Break
10:45 am – 12:00 pm: Planned Workshops:
- Marnie Rempel Friesen & Chelséa Legg-St. Pierre (ECALA) -Digital Literacy Resource by Immigrant Services Society of BC
- Wendy Peverett (ECALA) – Integrating Everyday Numeracy in Your Class
- Rebecca Still (CLN) – Teaching Reading Strategies and CALP Portal Resources

You’re welcome to attend the afternoon resource fair featuring agencies and programs in North East Edmonton. Learn more about what’s offered by agencies like Action for Healthy Communities, Candora, PALS, and services at the Edmonton Public Library, The Today Centre and others.
