Date: Tuesday, May 26 and Thursday, May 28, 2020
Time: 10:00 – 11:00 am
Trainer: Dr. Wayne Hammond
The practical goal of these training sessions is to introduce participants to strengths-based ways of supporting others to navigate challenges and thrive in uncertain times. Participants will be introduced to strategies and ways of coping that heighten the probability of addressing the potential challenges or limitations of a person in a constructive and sustainable manner. They will learn to identify the current mindset of individuals and effectively engage them with a four-step model of transformational change with the goal of building confidence and a sense of personal empowerment in themselves and those they are supporting.
Learning Objectives:
- Understanding the importance of a strengths-based approach and its guiding principles
- Develop an understanding and an ability to draw upon a roadmap for change that embraces a more holistic manner to better understand their presenting needs, strengths, and limitations
- Develop an understanding of the four types of mindsets and how to identify and respond to them in others
- Develop the ability to promote positive change in others from the “inside-out” as opposed to the traditional model of managing behavior and learning – “outside-in”.
